In general, compared to other age groups, more people between the ages of 18 and 34 and 35 and 49 utilize all three forms of social media.Furthermore, older adults utilize social media platforms less frequently than younger adults
Examining more closely, children between the ages of 10 and 17 make up 14% of Facebook users, which is slightly less than that of YouTube (15%) and almost one in ten (9%), of Twitter users. When it comes to social media, less people between the ages of 50 and 64 choose to use Twitter (18%), YouTube (20%), and Facebook (19%). In contrast, twice as many persons over 65 use Facebook than Twitter (8% versus 4%). Additionally, 10% of individuals in this age bracket use the YouTube platform.
When it comes to the age groups that use social media the most, adult Facebook users between the ages of 18 and 34 make up 29 and those between the ages of 35 and 49 make up 30, respectively. Two fifths (40%) of people in the previous age range use Twitter, compared to 26% of people in the same group who use YouTube. Furthermore, approximately a third (29%) of users of YouTube and Twitter belong to the latter age bracket.
