The provided floor plans illustrate the changes to the ground floor of a specific building over 43 years. Overall, the transformation is substantial, shifting from an office to an apartment and finally into a flower shop. Notably, although functions varied markedly, the central corridor-like zone remained unused throughout.
In detail, from 1958 to 1984,, the premises were arranged as an office, with the meeting, assistant, and secretary rooms located on the west, while a manager’s office and a kitchen occupied the east. Meanwhile, a reception area was set beside the entrance in the southeast. By contrast, from 1985 to 2000, the site was converted into an apartment. The former meeting room was replaced with a living room, and the assistants’ and secretary’s offices were turned into a bathroom with a shower. As regards the eastern side, the manager’s office was remodelled into two bedrooms, whereas the kitchen in the northeast was retained.
Since 2001, the ground floor has been converted into a flower shop. Furthermore, large display areas were opened up in the west and southeast; in addition, a play area was introduced near the entrance. Moreover, the previous bedrooms were reconfigured into an office on the east; however, the kitchen has consistently remained in the northeastern corner.
