The structural upgradation of the library’s ground floor from 2001 to 2001 is revealed in the pictures. In general, the alteration has taken space the most in more diverse collections of subjects as well as installing new technological facilities.
Looking to the south of the floor, the entrance remained the same which could lead directly to the librarian’s desk between 2001 and 2009. Also, the stairs located in the southeast area stayed unchanged whereas there was an installation of a couple of computers to the northeast of the stairs in 2009.
In 2001, in the western area, there was a long shelf of history that was then reduced and moved to the south-western corner for the addition of 3 types of books, namely kitchen, economics, and law in 2009.Additionally, the fiction shelf in the north in 2001 relocated to the north of history area in 2009, which aims to make place for large tables in the north. Regarding self-help books, it was diminished into a small shelf to the north of the fiction one.
As can be seen, in 2001, 8 square desks in the middle of the room had been transformed into 4 long rectangle tables by 2009. In the east, newspapers and periodicals books, in 2009, were replaced by films and DVDs.
