The first plan illustrates the outline of the ground floor of museum in 1990, while the second one shows the changes in the ground floor that were done by 2010.
Overall, it is clear from the images that the museum had more rooms in 2010 due to the fact that 3 additional rooms were constructed. Moreover, some rooms were replaced.
Regarding the significant transformations , in 2010, the gift shop got larger in shape and shared the area with a café. The statue which was right next to the gift shop was moved to the center of the floor. Also, the empty space between natural history room and gift shop was turned into a lift. Similarly, the former archeology gallery was replaced by children’s interactive zone and poster display area with a wall between to separate them, while the other walls were demolished.
Turning to the areas with less changes, the walls of the local history room were knocked down. The entrance was widened with the reception counter being enlarged and moved closer to it. However, the museum office, natural history room as well as stairs remained unchanged and stayed in the same location and size as in 1990.
