The maps illustrate the ground floor of the library in 2001 and its layout after redevelopment in 2009. Overall, the ground floor has become more user-friendly, with the addition of multiple categories and computers. Additionally, children’s area has been built as a leisure facility, and the site for newspaper and periodicals has been removed to make a room for films and DVDS.
In 2001, there was an entrance on the southwestern side of the place behind the librarian’s desk and close to the “Self help” book category. To the right from the entrance, there were stairs for going upstairs. Eight tables, which were located in the centre, were arranged in 4 rows and surrounded by an area for newspaper and periodicals from the right, and “History” book category from the left. On top of tables, there was a book section called “Fiction”.
After redevelopment in 2009, the stairs have been expanded slightly, however, the entrance and the librarian’s desk have remained intact. Four tables have been removed, but, still remained in the centre, with four of them organized in 4 rows. The area for The films and DVDS has been constructed in the east, which was previously occupied by a venue for newspaper and periodicals. Behind it, two new computers have been added for users to use. The place , which was previously occupied by only three book sections, has been expanded with another four book categories, including “Kitchen”, “Economics”, “Law”, and “Children’s book”. In addition, children’s area has been added as a leisure amenity for children in the north of the place.
