To sum up, the number of medical professional and females showed a significant increase, while the numebr of male doctors dropped slightly. Of particular note is the number of foreign and native doctors that even though at the beginning of the time there were more natives than foreigners, the proportion was the same by the end of the period.
The figure of doctors in Australia showed a consistent increase from 23,720 in 1986 to 35450 in 2006. Moreover, beginning at around 73 % of male in 1986 dropped slightly to 60 % in 2006. In contrast, female in the medical field experienced a slight increase from 22 % at the beginning of the timeframe to just under 40 % by the end of the period. In the realm of the place of birth, 62 % of the doctors were Australian in 1986, before declining to 50 % in 2006. On the other hand, 38 % of the doctors were foreigners at the opening of the period, and it then jumped minimally to 50 %, reaching to the same number of Australian people by the close of the year.
