The table illustrates how often adults in an European country used the Internet, in percentage, between 2006 and 2010.
Overall, it is noticeable that the proportion of daily usage was the highest over the period. While the figures for adults using the Internet daily and weekly increased, that for other frequency witnessed a decline by 2010.
In 2006, 36% of adults spent time on the Internet in their daily life, which was approximately as twice as the proportion of individuals using the Internet weekly and 3 times a month, at only 15% each. Meanwhile, one-third of adults in the survey never used the Internet in 2006.
Thereafter, daily Internet usage among adults experienced a sharp growth to 72%, maintaining its top position and accounting for two-third of the total proportion. A similar trend, but to a lesser extent, can be observed in the figure for weekly usage, which rose from 15% to 22% at the end of the period despite a modest drop by 7% between 2008 and 2010. In contrast, the percentage of adults using the Internet 3 times a month in 2010 was 5%, 10% lower compared to the figure in 2006. In addition, there was a sharp plunge by 33% in the proportion of people who never used the Internet at the end of the period survey, becoming the lowest figure among all the frequency.
