The table comares the proportion of expenditure allocated to 11 various categories per capita in Australia from 1986 to 2009.
Overall, financial budget acclocations exhibited an upward tred in nine sectors, while housing experiencing the biggest percentage in both uyear. Clothing and Transport, in contrast, saw decline over the period.
In 1986, the budget acclocations which received the biggest nukmbers in group were also the ones with significant changes over the period. Housing was on top of the list with a whopping 22%, a figure that changed to 16% over the spen. Food and Transport wwere the second and third most popular types in 1986, with 18% and 14% respectively, the next year both sectors fell to 15% and 13%, whereas maintained its position. Similarly, clothing dreased from 6% to 4%.
The remaining sectors witnessed dramatic changes during the one-year period. Electricity and water and Recreation and entertainment also rose, from 7% and 8% in 1986, similar numbers with 10% in 2009 respectively. Healthcare, Education, Communication and Insurance and Financial Services almost recorded the same percentages, from 5%, 4%,3% and 5% to 8%, 6%, 6% and 7%. Finally, Other goods and services was only group with the least increase in budgeted amount, from 8% to 9%.
