The table chart gives information about residents’ reactions associated with various aspects of life whether positive or negative from 1980 to 2010.
Overall, most residents’ opinions related to six types of aspects were good, while there was a minor rate of neutral or bad responses. Especially, four out of six sectors witnessed an upward trend where good response increased.
In 1980, 80% of residents’ responses were very positive, while there were just only 6% of bad opinions. This was followed by the figure for shops and environment as these sectors received around 72-75% of good responses, contrasting to the proportion of neutral or negative ones. While 64% of good opinions belonged to healthcare, the figures for transport system and accommodation witnessed a higher rate of neutral responses, with around 31-34%.
Regarding the years of 2010, a similar pattern can be seen in the Education and environment sectors. While there was a decrease in the proportion of good opinions, the reverse was true in bad responses, with (76%/11%) and (64%/20%) respectively. On the other hand, the remaining aspects witnessed an upward trend. Around 81-83% of the responses were good in shops and healthcare, while the proportion of bad opinions decreased, which was between only 7-10%. Similarly, the good responses in transport and accommodation observed an increase by approximately 10%, which were contributed by significant reduction in the percentage of neutral opinions.
