Overall, television was the most popular advertising medium for all four companies, while cinema advertising received the least spending. Citroën spent the most money overall, whereas Vauxhall invested the least.
In detail, Renault spent 59 million dollars on TV advertising, which was its highest figure, followed by press at 45 million. It spent much smaller amounts on cinema, outdoor, and radio. Similarly, Rover focused mainly on TV, with 45 million dollars, and press advertising at 38 million, but spent nothing on cinema.
Vauxhall showed a different pattern, as it spent only 8 million on press but invested heavily in TV advertising,
