Afterwards, both of them saw a gradual growth, reaching 4.4 and 2.3 million people in 2013, respectively. Eventually, metro and trains significantly grew to 5 and 3.6 million, remaining the most widespread kinds of mass transit among individuals in Milan.
Initially, trams (1.3 million), busses (1 million) and taxis (0.6 Million) were the least popular types of public transport. Busses experienced a slight decline in 2011, accounting for 0.8 million, while others’ figures were relatively rising. In 2014, the usage of trams, busses and taxis gradually increased to 2.2, 2.4 and 1 million, correspondingly.
