The statistics presents how many tourists chose to visit five different European tourist attractions between 1981 and 2001.
Overall, what stands out from the table is that Amusement parks witnessed the highest number of visitors during the entire period. Additionally, the British museum and the Rijksmuseum increased while the opposite trend was observed in the remaining attractions except Zoos remaining unchanged.
At the beginning of the period, the number of visitors visiting Amusement parks was 7.50 million people, highest among all the attractions and more than double the figure for the National aquatic center at 3.85 millions. Far below were the British museum and the Rijksmuseum, with their respective data being 2.98 millions of visitors and 2.44 millions of visitors. At the bottom of the list was Zoos, as its figure stood at 1.01 million people.
Thereafter, the British museum attracted more tourists over the next ten years, with its data in 2001 rising to 4.30 million people. Similarly, the figure for the Rijksmuseum rose to 4.28 million tourists from 1991 to 2001. By contrast, a downward trend was seen in the number of the National Aquatic Center visits, with a slight drop to 3.28 million people. Meanwhile, 6.80 million visitors came to Amusement parks, making it record a decrease before becoming the leading category at the end of the survey time. Finally, the figure for Zoos dropped slightly and then recovered in 2001, at 1.01 million visitors.
