The table compares the water consumption for various uses in four nations.
Overall, domestic water consumption remained relatively low among all these countries. Additionally, Egypt and Saudi Arabia allocated the majority of water resources to agriculture while New Zealand and Canada did so for industrial purposes.
Regarding Egypt, just over four-fifths of water was used agriculturally, while industrial and domestic consumption both stood at below 10%. The percentage of water used in Saudi Arabia for agriculture was 64%, double the figure for industry, leaving domestic use with a mere 6%.
In contrast, there was 70% of the proportion of water consumption for industry, as opposed to 20% for the figure for residential usage and seven times as high as that for agricultural purposes. New Zealand’s water use, industry, and agriculture had relatively similar trends, at around 45% each, higher than the figure for the domestic sector (10%).
