In the 1998, nearly every housegold owned a washing machine (98%). The second-largest segment was color TV (95%). Followed by video recorder who owned by 75% families in New Zealand. Computer owned by exactly half of the households. The proportion of cell phone was slightly higher than dishwasher (20% and 18%). The smallest segment of the proportion represent digital camera (2%).
Taking a closer look in 2002, in general electronic goods possessed in New Zealand showed increased, exept washing machine who remained constant at 98%. There was a slight rise in color TV from 95% to 97%. Meanwhile, cell phone shows a sharp rise in used from 20% to 80%. Digital camera also depict a upward trend from 2% to 39%, but still a minority in 2002.
