The presented table breaks down the results of questionnaire carried out in UK in three distinct years.
Overall, it is obvious that football remained as the most interested sport of all time. Whereas, the opposite is true for judo which ragged significantly behind.
To begin with football, 59% of students showed interest in this sport in 1990, however, after a decade the figure plummeted negligibly to 57%. Even in 2010, the figure remained almost stagnant with 1% variation. As of golf and cricket, the share of both sports experienced similar growth and plunge. The former began at 28% in 1990 and remained stable at this level in 2000, notwithstanding it saw a slight decrease of 2% by 2010. The latter one, in comparison, stood at 12% between 1990 and 2000. By the final year, nevertheless, it grew to 14%.
Turning to judo, the gradual downward trend was observed here from 9% to 4% between 1990 and 2010. Rugby, on the other hand, showed the reverse. 12% of respondents engaged in this sport in 1990 and it kept growing and reached its peak of 24% by 2010. Ultimately, swimming, the proportion of respondents’ interest fluctuated, which accounted for 15% in 1990 and it increased to 18%, despite this temporary surge the figure rebounded its former percentage of 16% by 2010.
