The table illustrates consumer expenditure in Ireland,Italy,Spain,Sweden and Turkey in 2002.In general consumers spent a large percent on food,drinks and tobacco compared to the other items.people in Italy purchased a lot of clothing and footwear in comparison to the other four countries.It is noticeable that education and leisure was the least important item to spend on among all the countries.
Firstly, consumers in Turkey spent 32% of their purchases on Food and drinks which was almost double that of Italy . Moreover,Ireland followed closely at 29% whilst Italy and Sweden were at the bottom with 16% and 15% respectively.Additionaly,garments and footwear in Italy were bought in large numbers at 9% .Turkey,Spain and Ireland had a constant rate just below 7%.Sweden had the least purchase at 5%.
Furthermore,education and leisure which had the least expenditure among all other items had Turkey leading with 4%.People in Spain spent the least among all other countries ,while Sweden and Italy were much better at 3%.This was 1% more than purchases made by people in Ireland .
