The presented graph compares the sales of five different mobile phones purchased from 2006 to 2012.
Overall, while it is evident that the selling rate of Samsung and Apple mobile phones increased dramatically over a 6-year period, Motorola and Erickson experienced a significant decline in the number of phones they sold; meanwhile, the trend for Nokia fluctuated during these years.
In 2006, Samsung sold 117 million cellphones, standing in third place among all companies. The selling rates then rose sharply, reaching around 397 million in 2012, to eventually make this brand the best seller compared to others. The rising pattern can also be seen in the sales of Apple phones, ending at around 136 million in 2012.
On the other hand, the trend for Motorola and Erickson, which sold 210 million and 74 million respectively in 2006, showed a noticeable decrease, reaching 28 million for both in 2012 as the lowest rate among others. The numbers for Nokia, the best seller of the year 2006, fluctuated moderately through these years and stayed at 335 million in 2012 after Samsung.
