The table illustrates the proportion of the sale in million of five mobile phone brands: Nokia, Ericsson, Samsung, Motorola and Apple from the year 2006 to 2012.
In general, it is evident that the figures of Samsung and Iphone had increased over six years while that of Nokia was the highest until 2012 albeit fluctuating.
Regarding Samsung, Apple and Nokia’s data, in 2006, Samsung started with 117 million mobile phones sold. This number continued to climb up gradually to 396.5 million, tripled that of the first year, surpassing Nokia’s to be the highest in 2012. Apple was released in 2007 with 2.3 million phones sold and the figure went up slightly by 89 million in 2011 before experiencing a dramatic rise to 135.8 at the ending point. Nokia witnessed a fluctuating trend with 345 million phones sold at first. After going up to 463 million, the proportion plunged to its final result by 335 million.
Moving to the sale of Ericsson and Motorola, both suffered the lowest figures during the period and ended up in the same position, which is 28 million. Ericsson’s sales hit the peak in 2007 with 102 million then dropped markedly, being roughly similar with Motorola’s from 2009 till the end.
