Overall, Apple is the manufacturer that witnessed the most significant rise in the number of products sold during the period. In contrast, Motorola’s number gradually decreased and was one of the lowest.
Both Ricsson and Motorola’s sales numbers went down. Ricsson reached its peak at 102 million in 2007 and then progressively declined to 28 million at the end of the period. Meanwhile, Motorola, in the first year of the period, was ranked the second, just after Nokia for 210 million mobile phones were sold. Then there was a dramatic decrease in Motorola’s sales, to 10 times in 2012 compared to that figure in 2006.
In 2006, Nokia took the first place as they sold 345 million products. The number kept rising until it hit the highest point at 475 million sold phones in 2008, which made Nokia the only brand that reached this magnificent goal. After that they remained quite stable and dropped minimally to 335 million phones in 2012. Samsung climbed up constantly during the period, and in 2012, this brand also reached its peak for 396.5 million, which was the most successful brand in that year. Finally, Apple witnessed marginal figure from 2007 to 2011 and unexpectedly, tremedous number of mobile phones produced by it were bought for 135.8 million one.
