The top of the list was the USA with 378 in 1965, 7535 in 1990, and 6976 in 2005. Next came Russia and the UK with 196 and 15 in 1965, respectively. In 2005, the numbers of Russia’s and Britain’s nuclear weapons were much larger compared to 1965, comprising 3995 and 198 weapons, respectively.
Among the least weaponised countries were China and France with 10 and 7 weapons in 1965. However, in 1990, China with 257 weapons surpassed Britain by 22, thereby having third largest number of weapons.
