Overall, the USA universities stood at the top in all subjects, while the UK held the second place. Canada and Australia had a comparable number of universities that ranked top in the world. Notably, New Zealand had the lowest number of universities that ranked in the top.
In terms of biology, the US’s top-ranked universities clearly dominated with the figure of 69, which was the highest figure across all subjects, while the UK followed them in second place, registering 30 institutions in biology. Australian and Canadian universities had the same number of universities in biology, each recording 9 universities, whereas New Zealand had the lowest number of top-ranked universities in biology.
As for medicine, the USA again stood at the top, with 54 universities in the top 200. The UK came in second place, at 24 institutions. Australia and Canada had a comparable number of universities in medicine that ranked in the top 200, at 13 and 12 respectively, while New Zealand lagged behind greatly, with 2 universities in total.
When it comes to psychology, it also showed clear dominance by the USA, which had 58 universities that ranked in the top 200. The UK remained in second place with 29 institutions. Australia had more universities in the top 200, at 17, compared to Canada which had 14 universities. Once again, New Zealand had the smallest amount, with only 4 universities.
