The table presents the amount of visitors to Edinburgh Zoo before and after pandas were introduced during the year. The two pie charts illustrate the consequences of surveys questioning visitors how satisfied they were with their trip, at the same two periods.
Overall, the quantity of visitors increased after pandas were presented to the Zoo. On the other hand, the proportions of very satisfied and very dissatisfied people showed a considerable rise, while the figure of those who find their visit dissatisfied saw a rapid decline. Additionally, the shares of satisfied and tourists who were not respond to the survey remained the same.
Before pandas were introduced, there was a total of 74.000. However, after their presentation the number rose significantly to 82.000
Looking at the pie charts, there were the same percentages of tourists who didn’t respond (5%) before and after introduction of the species, also with those who were satisfied from their introduction (40%). Furthermore, there were slight declines in the amounts of visitors who were very dissatisfied and dissatisfied with pandas that introduced, (from 10% to 5% the former, from 35% to 15% the latter). However, the proportions of visitants who were very satisfied saw a rapid rise from 10% to 35%
