The table shows the percentages of pupils who attended four types of secondary schools in the years 2000,2005, and 2009.
In general we can see that the number of pupils who enrolled in voluntary-controlled schools was higher than the other types. In contrast pupils who attendedspecialist schools were fewer.
Valuntary-controlled schools were the more attractive to pupils in their secondary schools, withmore than 50 percent of them in this type in the year 2000, although their number decreased after that to be 38 percent in the year 2005, but still in first place. In the year 2009 their number fell sharply and came behind community schools in second place, which was 20 percent.
Although the percentage of community schools was small in the year 2000, it then started to increase steadily, which was 12 percent in 2000 then jumped to 32 percent in 2005, and again increasedsignificantly to 58 percent in the year 2009
Grammer schools and specialist schools were the lower schools attending for pupils, although the first one started high but then decreased, and to percentages of the two of them were 12 and 10 percent respectively in the year 2009.
