The tables depict the data of coffee and bananas sold by fairtrade in 1999 and 2004 in UK, Switzerland, Denmark, Belgium, Sweden. It is clear that both products’ sale increased in all countries.
Coffee helped to earn 1.5 million euros, and in 2004 sales increased considerably to 20 million euros, which was top in coffee sales. Switzerland sold coffee 3 million euros in 2001 and these sales doubled in 2004, 6 million euros of earning. Sale figures of coffee in Denmark, Belgium and Sweden increased slightly from 1.3 million euros, 1 million euros, 0.8 million euros in 1999 to 2 million euros, 1.7 million euros, 1 million euros in 2004.
Most earning from bananas was by Switzerland, from 15 million euros in 1999 to 47 million euros in 2004. Denmark had no sales of bananas in 1999 and introduce itself by sales of 0.9 million euros in 2004. Sales in UK and Belgium follow the same trend. Whereas Sweden faces the slight drop in sales of bananas in 2004, which is from 1.8 million euros to 1 million euros.
Overall, it can be seen that Switzerland increase the sales of coffee by two times and bananas by three times.
