The tables compare the five important countries in the world that traded “fair trade-labeled” coffee and bananas in 1999 and 2004.
Overall, the amount of coffee sales was noticeably higher in the UK last time than in other areas, but in the former year in Switzerland, this industry was better than others. Moreover, Sweden shows the least amount of coffee sales in both periods. The banana treading industry is much larger in Switzerland than in the remaining four countries. In contrast, banana sales were less frequent and exports in Denmark were significantly smaller than in other countries in 1999 and 2004, respectively.
Looking at the tables in detail, in Sweden and Belgium, the amount of coffee export is equal to a million euros and 0.8 euros in 1999, respectively, and this pointer is very low compared to others. Similarly, in the last period, this amount is gradually increasing, but those too little remain. The UK’s quantity of coffee sales was high in 2004. However, in 1999, Switzerland’s income was better than that.
It can be seen that bananas’ industry was really better in Switzerland in 1999 and 2004, when those were equal to 15 million euros and 47, respectively. In contrast, Belgium and Denmark export bananas less than others. Those amounts are equal to 0.6 million euros and 0.9, respectively. The remaining countries’ amount of industry is between a million euros and 5.5 million at all times.
