The tables provided show sales of Fairtrade-Labelled bananas and coffee in two different years (1999, 2004) in five European countries: UK, Switzerland, Denmark, Belgium, and Sweden.
Overall, what stands out from the table is that sales of coffee experienced increases in all five countries, while banana sales in European countries saw sharp increases in their sales, except for Belgium and Sweden.
Looking at the data in more detail, sales of coffee in the UK saw an explosive rise of approximately 1300% from 1999 to 2004, while in other countries, sales did not make any significant difference. Even though the cash flow from banana sales in UK outpaced the coffee sales, they increased by only 300%, whereas the sales in the rest of the countries grew several times.
However, Belgium and Sweden lost almost half of their sales each between 1999 and 2004, with the former losing 0.8 million euros in cash flow and the latter 1.1 million euros.
