The table illustrates data about consumption of potatoes and production of potatoes in five different parts of the world in 2006.
In consumption of potatoes Europe accounted for the highest kg per person, it stood at 96. On the other hand, Africa made up the lowest number of potatoes for about 14 kg. Asia, South and Central America were almost at par, they stood at 23 and 25 kg. However, North America accounted for more potatoes than South and Central America, it was hearly 58 kg.
In production of potatoes Europe accounted for a great number of potatoes for about 126 kg. However, the highest figure of potatoes in production had Asia for almost 130 kg. Africa, South and Central America’s level of production were almost similar. Africa stood at 16, while America at almost 16. On the other hand, North America stood at higher number compared with other parts of the US, it had almost 25 kg.
Overall, Europe was the best in consumption, and was the second best in production. Furthermore, Asia stood at mere figure in consumption, while was the best in production.
