The tables compare the average working hours of men and women in full-time and part-time jobs in three different countries: Greece, the Netherlands, and the UK, along with the European average
Overall, men worked more hours than women in full-time roles, whereas the opposite was true for part-time employment. Moreover, Greece recorded the highest working hours in both types of jobs, while all three countries fell below the European average.
Regarding full-time work, Greek workers worked most hours, with 42.5 hours for men and 39.9 hours for women, exceeding that figure for the European average, at 40.4 hours and 39.2 hours, respectively. Next, in the Netherlands, both men and women reported the same figure, at 38 hours each, and that is lower than the European average. In addition, 37.5 hours for men and 37 hours for women were reported in the UK, and that figure became the lowest in three nations.
Part-time workers generally worked fewer hours. The European average was recorded as the highest, at 34 hours for women and 32 hours for men. Among individual countries, Greece had the highest part-time figures (29.3 hours for women and 30 hours for men), slightly higher than the Netherlands (29.2 hours for women and 28.3 hours for men) and the UK (28 hours for women and 29 hours for men).
