The maps illustrate a complete transformation of a site named Dalton between 1815 and 2015. It is evident that this riverside area has been developed from a small village to a modernised city which has an airport and an industrial zone.
In 1815, the forest was situated on the left side of the river, while houses, hall farm, and Dalton hall were located on the other side. The two areas were separated by the Dalton river. The east-west plot of the map was specialised to build homes of most Dalton residents, but some people built their houses alongside the river. Below the residence session, livestock animals such as cows and horses were farmed near a small barn.
In 2015, The first layout of Dalton was completely changed due to the requirements for industrialisation and modernisation of the nation. Trees on the western side were chopped off to lay down crucial facilities like hospitals and houses, as well as built up an industrial zone to accommodate citizens’ needs. The natural boundary in 1815 was a river; after 200 years, the bridge served as a connection between two sites. Hall farm and livestock farming were removed in order to build a school and hotel, forming a complete residential place for people. An airport was constructed near the river, this marked a huge development for Dalton town. This metamorphosis has not only led the city to bolster economy of the entire country but also live up to citizens’ expectations.
