The maps represent the areas on the city’s edge of Fosbury between 1980 and 2015. In general, there were a lot of notable changes which was done to the area.
To begin with, there had been a significant change in the north-east side of the map. In 1980, this area consists of residential and commercial features, but by 2015 most of these features were demolished. There used to be terraced houses, block of flats and hotel which dominates the area, but then the terraced houses were replaced with supermarket and car park in 2015. While block of flats was broken down and also the Grocer’s shop which was located next to it. However, the hotel remains the same throughout the period. Another major change was also done in the south-east area of a map which warehouses were constructed out of a location which used to be just fields back in 1980. Moreover, the roads were also modernized and a roundabout was created in the middle of the map.
There was also a huge improvement done to the west side of the map. Thinking recreationally, the tennis court under the park had been altered into a sports center and a car park. In addition, the park had been relocated next to the roundabout of the city in 2015. The previous area of the park was changed into residential features. Although, many changes were done, the houses in the north west region of a map still remained throughout the years.
To sum up, it can be clearly seen there were a significant changes done to the to the residential accommodation and recreational facilities, also features such as industrial and commercial were developed.
