The pie charts provide information about the percentage of contribution of different sectors in the Turkish economy in two different years, 2000 and 2016.
Overall, in 2000, agriculture was the highest contributing sector in the economy of Turkey, while construction was the least. On the other hand, in 2016, healthcare and education topped the list, whilst finance, business and other was at the bottom.
In 2000, agriculture accounted for the maximum participation in the economy with 24% share which decreased by 10% and reached 14% in 2016. Similarly, leisure and hospitality experienced a slight downfall dropping from 17% in 2000 to 14% in 2016. Additionally, the output from the government in Turkey witnessed a fall from 12% in the beginning of the given time period to 9% by the end.
On the contrary, statistics for some other categories rose. The most significant growth was in the construction sector which grew from 3% in 2000 to 10% in 2016. Moving ahead, manufacturing, trade utilities and transportation and finance, business and other also went up by 4%, 2%, and 3% respectively. It is pertinent to note that the only category retaining the exact amount of contribution in both the years was healthcare and education at 17%.
