The two tables illustrate the number of university students exchanged between five european countries (France, Sweden, United Kingdom, Germany and Netherland) and Australia in 2007 and 2009. Overall, the number of students moving from universities in Europe to Australia has increased in the given period, while the number of student from Australia to Europe universities remained steady.
Regarding european students chosing tu study in Australia’s universities, in 2007, France recorded 61 students which was the highest number from an europian country. The Netherland had 36 sudents followed by Sweden and the United Kingdom which recorded 36 and 34 students respectively. Germany with 27, had the least number of students making around 14% of the total number of students that year. In contrast, in 2009, while the total number of students from Europe to Australia increased (189 to 226 students in total) some countries recorded slight decreased (61 to 60 students for France and from 31 to 26 students for the United Kingdom).
On the other hand, the number of australian students who traveled to european countries for studies was 152 in 2007. In this year, France universities welcomed 37 autralian students which make around 21% of the total number. Sweden universities registered 33 students followed by the United Kingdom and Germany which had 32 students each. Germany universities recorded 18 students which was the lowest number that year. In 2009, while the overall number of students from Australia to european universities remained steady (152 in 2007 and 2009) there was high increased recorded by some universities, notably France and Germany, which number increased to 58 and 26 students recpectively. Meanwhile Sweden, the United Kingdom registred slight decreased (27 for Sweden and and 23 for the United Kingdom). The stdent who chosed Netherland universities declined by almost 50% of the initial number (18 students compared to 32 in 2007).
