The two infographic materials depict the number of spacecraft launches conducted by several governments throughout the period of 50 years and state the purposes of these launches.
According to the data presented in a pie chart, the most significant number of missions was carried out by USSR and USA with 3484 and 1760 launches respectively. On the contrary, India and Canada proved to release the least spacecraft over the observed span: 48 and 28 correspondingly. Besides, a considerable proportion of the missions, namely 539, was taken up by commercial launches.
As can be seen clearly from the provided bar chart, a prevailing purpose for the missions was communication, accounting for over a quarter of the launches. Following up were surveillance satellites with almost a fifth of the total number. Weather observation and planet exploration, however, ended up as the least common reasons, each resulting in approximately 5%.
Overall, the visuals display a detailed overview of the quantity of spacecraft launches in various states, as well as their primary purposes, highlighting the superstate dominance in the field and pointing out communication and surveillance as the key intentions of the missions.
