The given bar graph illustrates the proportion of men and women in six age groups consuming fruits and vegetables in one day in 2006 in the UK. The World Health Organization recommends that people should eat five or more portions of fruit and vegetables per day.
Overall, it is clear that females were dominant at all ages and the highest percentages for both genders were shown in seniors.
Looking at the chart, we can see that women always had higher percentages than men. Starting from 19-24 to 25-34 females had eaten approximately 2% more fruits and vegetables than males which consisted of 15%. Also, men aged 35-44 and 45-54 were less similar than the opposite gender who should contributed 25% and 27% respectively.
The men had the highest percentages in the 55-64 age bracket with 33%, while women consumed nearly 35%. Other older aged 65-74 and 75+ need to eat at least 25% fruits and vegetables.
