The bar chart compared the percentage of fuel derived from renewable energy sources used in the transport sector in six European countries: Slovakia, Austria, France, Poland, Spain, Greece and also the EU average from 2009 to 2010.
Overall, it is clear that Slovakia is the best-production of renewable fuel in both years, while the opposite was true for Greece. Additionally, in general countries experienced an increase in usage of fuel in the transport over the period, with a few exceptions.
In 2009, Slovakia led the chart with a significant 9.3%, which followed by Austria with an approximate number of 6.5% and France at just over 6%. A year later, the former decreased into the 7.8%, although it still being on the top of the chart. Austria dropped about to 5.5%, while France’s percentage remain unchanged.
Poland and Spain showed a noticeable growth, the former saw an increase from 5% to 6% and the latter from 3.5% to 4.8%, respectively, In Greece the percentage of renewable energy of fuel showed in very small rates, which also experienced an increase from 1.1% to slightly above 2% in 2010. Finally, the European Union average rose from 4.5% to 5%, showing the general upward trend among the majority of countries.
