Overall, it is clear that the number of total population has increased. Comparing age agroups, mostly the quantity of older people had an upward trend, while number of young people decreased. In addition, the percentage change for people older than 65 was the biggest.
The number of citizens for all ages increased from 4.381.269 to 4.410.284, showing +0.6% growth. However, the number of children under 15 has declined from 898.160 to 896.364. Similarly, population of adults aged from 15 to 39 reduced, changing from 1.577.256 to 1.574.102. Both age groups of under 15 and 15-39 had the same negative change in percentage as of -0.2%.
In contrast, figures for residents older than 40 rised. People from age of 40 to 64 had a three times higher percentage of change compared to younger people as of +0.6%. Similarly, the number of individuals older than 65 had a positive change in percentage (+4.0%), twenty times bigger than those of people younger than 39.
