Band 6+: You and your family are living in rented accommodation in an English speaking country. You are not satisfied with the condition of some of the furniture. Write a letter to your landlord. In your letter introduce yourself explain what is wrong with the furniture say what action you would like the landlord to take

Dear Landlord,

My name is Ganesha Revananta, my family and I have rented one of your accomodations for a few days now. I am writing this letter in regards to the state of the furniture in our room.

Starting with the bed, the mattress has an old stain. It felt uncomfortable sleeping as the bed creaks with every move. The dining table is dirty as well; the wood felt moist, and mold seems to be growing from it. We can’t clean it off, for the mold kept returning.

On behalf of my family, I request that the mattress needs to be replaced. The one we currently have has clearly seen better days. As for the dining table, a simple table cloth will do. Something to cover the surface so we can feel more comfortable eating our food on it. I suggest that you replace that table as well once we move out.
