Dear Luis,
I am Aparna, a member of the International Students’ Club. As the club is organizing an event showcasing a variety of international cuisines, I am truly excited about this initiative. My country, India, has many vibrant dishes, and I would be delighted to contribute.
As I am from the southern region of the country, I am keen to present one of South India’s most iconic specialties, Masala Dosa, which is widely appreciated for its distinctive flavour, simplicity, and cultural significance.
The dish has two main components. The dosa is a thin, crisp crepe made from a fermented batter of rice and lentils, while the masala consists of mildly spiced mashed potatoes placed inside. It is typically served with coconut chutney, a creamy coconut dip and sambar, a tangy lentil-based vegetable stew. The fermentation process gives the dosa a light texture and subtle tangy taste.
I believe this vegetarian dish would be a valuable addition to the event, representing the richness of Indian cuisine while accommodating diverse dietary preferences.
Please let me know if I may proceed with this contribution.
Yours sincerely,
Aparna
