Dear landlord,
Good morning. My name is Adeola, and I am one of your tenants at No. 3, Olaoluwa Close, Maryland, Lagos. I occupy Flat A in Wing 1 of the building. I am writing to inform you of a noise pollution issue in the area that has been ongoing for 2 weeks.
I am a work-from-home new mom, and this noise has been affecting my baby’s sleep and overall well-being, which, in turn, has affected my productivity at work. Construction workers resume as early as 6 am and don’t close until 6 pm every day. As we all know, babies (including mine) rarely sleep at night. These construction workers disturb the environment with their equipment all day, and it hinders my baby’s sleep as well. This makes me split my attention because I don’t concentrate at work anymore, and I haven’t been resting well either.
Although they informed us when they were about to start the project, with a promise that it would only last for 7 days. But currently, it has been over 2 weeks, and it doesn’t look like it would end anytime soon. We have tried to speak with their manager on this issue but, they keep giving us excuses that he is currently out of town and they only follow his instructions.
I would like you to look into this issue as you are the owner of this property and they should be able to listen to you. I woudl suggest they meet an agreement of change of schedule with you and maybe reduce their work hours so it doesn’t take the whole day. That way, people would not be overwhelmed by their noise. I look forwrd to getting a positive feedback from you, sir.
Yours faithfully, Adeola
