Dear Michelle,

My name is Gurleen kaur. I am a First Year student of Recreation and The Leisure Services in the Canadore College. I am writing this letter to tell you that I have not completed the Sports Management project that you gave us and it was due last week.

The reason behind this is that I lost my mother in my home country , India last week . It was a shocking incident for me and my family. Because of this incident, I got depressed and was unable to focus on my studies. Even the doctor suggested me to take rest. I am a bright student in your class and I always complete my assignments and projects on time. This is the first time I had not been able to complete it on time.

Therefore, I request you to understand my situation and allow me some extra time to finish my project. I would really appreciate your help and will make sure it will not happen again in the future.
