Dear manager,

I am here to humbly inform you that I have to take a short period of time off work. It is my duty to complete my work; however, I got an amazing learning opportunity to study further in a college’s well known academic program. This program could definitely enhance my knowledge of work, as I would learn relevant skills and get advanced training during the break. Therefore, I would like to have a 5-day leave next month, and I have already asked my colleague Amy to cover my work during this period. After returning to work, I will spare more effort and time to catch up previous work, and I will handle my own work with a million thanks to Amy. I also guarantee to help her with her work whenever she has to take off. I firmly believe that the great chance should be seized appropriately to stimulate positive changes, and mutual help between colleagues serves as an essential catalyst to achieving better growth during work. All in all, I am in desperate hope that you give me this chance to breakthrough.
