Dear Director,

I hope this letter finds you in great spirits. I am writing to express my excitement and joyfulness as well as to thank the director of local community center, who has suggested my name in an award event. But, unfortunately, I will not be able to attend the ceremony.

My heart is overwhelmed to receive your invitation for such a grand occasion, which has never been organised before, and I am extremely grateful to you for your trust and value upon me for my valunteer works.

It is not my intention to inflict hurt to anyone, and you may be disheartened to hear that I cannot attend the programme. I do the voluteer works for sake of inner satisfacition and humanity, not for any fame and recognition. It is against my principle, therefore, forgive me for not attending it.

I will be passionate and honoured to be part of your next grocery distribution plan and medical camps. I look forward to hearing your positive response. Kindly feel free to contact me for my free future service.
