Dear John,
How are you? It is awful to have lost you from the field last week. I’m sorry if I haven’t written to you yet, but it’s been a tremendously busy week. How are you at the hospital? Is your leg hurting so badly?
However, I’m writing to you because on Saturday we had an astonishing match against the Red Boots F.C., you’d have had a lot of fun with us! The Red Boots, you know, are the first in our league, and they play really tough football. They break every defense, but we played an unexpectedly strong match, and I scored three times.
At the end of the match, I was so excited: three goals, would you have believed me? But at the same time, when I looked to my right and I didn’t see your face, I felt empty like a bin of trash. I’m not sure I can wait as long as it will take you to come back from the hospital, so I’m planning to come there to visit you in the next few days.
I wish you heal as soon as possible.
All the best,
Matthew
