Dear John,

I would like to apologize to you for an unintentional mistake that I committed, and I understand, it may irk you. Last week, I was at your house, and I broke a priceless vase located on the dining table. It happened while I was cooking a meal at night, and suddenly, my hand touched that valuable object which eventually fall on the ground. I understand that this vase was close to your heart, as it was given by your parents on your last birthday.

In light of the above incident, first and most important step I would like to take is to buy another similar vase for you from the same shop. Additionally, it is important for me to meet you in person to apologize for my silly mistake which may cause considerable frustration to you, in addition to, your family.

I hope our friendship will remain the same as it was before the accident. I am looking forward to meeting with you.
