The the fish and chips remained the most popular fast food until 1985, after this year it was eventually surpassed by hamburgers in 1987 and pizza in 1993.
Focusing first on the types of fast food that gained popularity, hamburgers was the second least prefferred food in 1975. The figure experienced a exponential rise to approximately 82 times in 1985 before grew steadly to 100 times of fast food consumption per year by Australian teenegers in 1995. The figure witnessed a stable increase from 1995 to 2000. Notably, pizza was th least popular fast food in the first year, with only 5 times of consumption per year by teenegers. However, the figure experienced a moderate rise to 82 times of consumption.
Fish and chips was the only fast food which saw an overall decline over the period. The fast food was consumed 100 times every year by teenegers, but its popularity dropped sharply to arround 83 times before a staging recovery to 87 consumed times by 1985. After 1985 the figure experienced a huge decline to a high of 60 consumed times – unfortunately becoming the least preffered junk food by the end of the period.
