Dear Luis,
I am writing to express my enthusiasm for the upcoming event organized by the club to celebrate the diverse culinary traditions from around the world.
As a proud member of the International Students’ Club, I would like to represent my country. Algeria has an immense culinary variety, and, similar to other North African countries, is most famous for couscous. However, I would like to prepare a distinct, less renowned dish, which is Olive Tajin.
Olive Tajin, as its name indicates, is an olive stew-like dish. This delicacy features tender lamb meat, pitted green olives, sliced carrots, and finely minced onions that make the stew when cooked with water. To add an exquisite taste, the dish is garnished with dried prunes and almonds, creating a delightful mix of salty and sweet flavors.
I believe that Olive Tajin deserves a place in the event, as it showcases Algeria’s Mediterranean heritage. Unlike other Mediterranean countries renowned for olive production, such as Spain and Italy, where they typically enjoy green olives raw, we incorporate them in dishes. I am confident that the attendees will have a pleasant culinary experience.
Thank you for taking my suggestion into consideration. I am eager to hear your positive response and to contribute to this exciting event.
Warm regards,
Fatima.
