Dear Luis,
I hope you’re having a great day so far!
My name is Daniel, and I have been a member of the International Students’ club for quite a while. I am reaching out regarding the event that our club is having next month. It’s the one where we will celebrate popular food from around the world. I’m from the Philippines, and I would like to offer to make a popular dish from my country for the event.
As someone who was born and raised in a country with multiple islands surrounded by water, we have seafood for our diet almost every day. I am thinking of preparing Adobong Pusit or Squid Stew to be showcased as one of my country’s famous delicacies. From the name itself, the dish’s main ingredient is squid, which is sauteed in garlic, onion, ginger, and is then mixed with vinegar and soy sauce. To make the dish even better, chopped thai chilies are added on top of it giving the dish an extra kick.
Being a country composed of various islands, this dish should be part of the event not only because of how it boasts the geographical significance of my country, but also how it represents one of the essential economic laborers of our country, the fishermen. These hardworking Filipinos continue to make a living by sacrificing their lives to make sure they harvest the finest seafood the Philippines has to offer.
Don’t worry, Luis. I’m going to make sure that this dish will not disappoint the audience. Thank you for your consideration!
Sincerely,
Daniel
