Band 9: You should spend about 20 minutes on this task. Last week you were on a flight to London. Unfortunately, when you got off the plane, you left a bag there. You did not remember about the bag until you got to your hotel. Write a letter to the airline. In your letter explain what has happened describe the bag and its contents say what you would like them to do about this problem You should write at least 150 words. You do NOT need to write any addresses. Begin your letter as follows:

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am writing to inform you that I accidentally left a bag on one of your flights last week. Regrettably, I did not notice that the bag was missing until I had already arrived at my hotel.

The incident took place on 12 January 2026, when I travelled from Kigali to London. Upon disembarking from the aircraft, I inadvertently left my bag in the overhead compartment above my seat. I became aware of this only later that day while unpacking at my hotel.

The missing item is a medium-sized black leather bag, identifiable by a small silver zip on the back. The front pocket contained several valuable documents, including my passport, national identity card, driving licence, travel documents, and my Canadian work residence permit.

I would be grateful if you could check whether the bag has been handed in to your lost property department. If it has been located, I would appreciate it if you could contact me at your earliest convenience and provide details regarding the procedure for its recovery.
