Art regarded as an essential feature of the community is a great way of transmitting and promoting its culture. From my perspective, even though art ought to be taught to children as a compulsory subject at school, they should not prioritise it over other subjects.
The primary factor that makes me believe that children should learn about art is they can gain knowledge related to the country’s traditions around the world by studying this subject. To clarify this point, each work of art has a unique story; therefore, they can absorb the worldwide through analyzing the meaning hidden behind the artworks. For instance, almost all oriental artworks are inspired by religious features, which show us the spirit of people.
Conversely, Children should not over-concentrate only on art because they do not have enough time to find what they like or are good at. To be more specific, if children just spend all their time on art, they can not discover the talented field in which they are passionate. Furthermore, after finding the field they still have plenty of time to gain deeper knowledge of this field. For example, Bill Gates, who is the CEO of Microsoft, just succeeded after he experienced a lot and found a passion for technology and computers.
To conclude, children should learn about art cause it gives them numerous worldwide knowledge in many areas. However, they do not need to over-focus only on art at this young age.
