Loads of people reckon that art and expression of its origin are integral components of a society. Because of this, children should learn about national art and art in general in schools. I consider subject of art to be as important as science, however, its meaning shouldn’t play a greater role than other disciplines.
I wish children knew more about art and started their learning experience from a young age. This applies not only to learning about unique traditions of a country and nation through art pieces but also to comprehending the message that art conveys. It seems to me that understanding art pieces broadens people’s world views, especially when it comes to children, because they are more perceptive to different factors. For example, it is a popular tendency when children listen to a certain type of music with their parents, in future they might either get into music or they even can pursue musical career in lives.
Some people may think that art classes should be more important than other ones. However, it seems to me that at least in elementary schools each subject must be treated equally, so when children transfer to middle and high schools, they are able to choose their specialization unbiased. All disciplines are paramount to learn in order for a child to be open-minded and well-educated, and, in my opinion, it is wrong to compare the importance of subjects.
In conclusion, I am a strong advocate of the opinion that children should have the ability to learn about art at schools. Nevertheless, the meaning of this subject should not undermine the role of others, in order to keep adolescents educated in different fields.
